Hello All,
Ignore the Previous Post.....Wrong Button.....
I have been trying to fix a problem now for over a week, with no sucess.
I have a need to run Linux with 3 Ethernet Cards......
I am running Redhat 5.1 with support for both card types I am using compiled into the
kernel.
I have the following cards
eth0 - SMC 8432 (pci) - tulip driver
eth1 - SMC 8416 (isa) - smc-ultra driver
eth1 - SMC 8416 (isa) - smc-ultra driver
The 8432 card seems to be working correctly, and I can get one of the 8416 cards to
initialize properly with our a proble, both with probing and without.
The 8416 is a PNP card, but this functionality can be disabled using SMC EzStart from
DOS...
I have tried getting both cards to work with and without PNP.....
The Ethernet-Howto mentions some peculiarities with this particular card, and I have
tried all of the fixes that I could find.
I have tried to initialize it using the "linuxconf" tool...both with and without "io"
and irq parameters....
I have tried passing boot args....
APPEND = "ether = 5,0x240,eth1 ether = 10,0x280,eth2"
I can aget one card working, but the "io" address is never what I pass it.....There is
some mention of this in the HOW-TO, concerning offsets and the like, so this might be
the reason that I see an incorrect memory address.....
I would appreciate any help that I can get with this....
Thanks
Todd
