Hi all,
A quesion about assigning IP addresses to dial up PPP clients.
I have a linux server on a local network with several other devices.
On this server I also have a ppp connection to the internet, and several
modems for dial up access. I am using the same Class C address everywhere.
What is the best way to assign IP addresses to the dial-up ppp connections??
I was letting pppd dish out whatever IP addresses it liked, but because of
other devices on the local lan, this isn't possible anymore.
I was now working on a start up script for ppp so that when it runs it would
check a config file to find the IP address for that particular tty.
Is anyone else doing it this way?? Or is there a simpler way to have
pppd automatically dish out addresses from a defined range of addresses??
Thanks
David
