Does Red Hat 4.2 Linux come as a standalone: not allowing ip_forwarding,
masquerading, firewalling, or any of the other typical server functions
for local hosts... except Samba and HTTP (although, still no
ip_forwarding)? If so, then I know that the kernel will need to be
recompiled.

If not, the reason for my question pertains to a problem produced by my
ppp0 connection. I created the address for the ppp0 device, but route -n
shows in the column to the left of the gateway IP on the same row
address 0.0.0.0 instead of default. Is 0.0.0.0 and default one in the
same? If I've missed something... what is it?
