  I doubt this is the case, but it may be worth noting.  Many moons ago,
I used NCSA telnet/ftp (version 2.0.3??) for DOS and it took EOF's (EOF
= End Of File) to mean the download was finished, when in fact the EOF
was just a part of the binary file being downloaded.  This used to
happen with earlier versions of compression util's that probably didn't
make sure they didn't use EOF inside a file.
  Your problem could be related to the ftp server or client not
correctly recognizing the proper EOF.
