linux router project?

are there any experiences with the LRP - linux router? 
does it work well? how is the performance? is it possible to use more eth
interfaces (up to 5) and also more serial interfaces (X.21?)
what cpu/mem would be required for example for 3 eth and 3 serial interfaces?
how about isdn?

any reports would be greatly appreciated!
