Newbie Question

Sorry about repeating this, as I saw the answer not too long ago.

Trying to agetty to answer data line and when line rings something
prints to the screen:

INIT: Id "d2" respawning too fast, disabled for 5 minutes
2.0.34 Slackware 3.5 (Lots of newbie changes to files)

Any clues gents.
