Thanx Clayton for your help,

When I did the fdisk /dev/sda I do see all the partions in the table......
which includes those two that aren't in fstab......hmmm.....Which means
what you had said ( the kernel is not detecting the filesystem on the
partition)....


Where do I go from here though?

P.S
The two I'm not seeing are /dev/sda2----Extended
                           /dev/sda6----Linux Swap
