hom many users will you be supplying mail for? I am wrestling with the
qmail/sendmail8.9.3 debate too. I am running sendmail now, qmail's
security issues are a plus, however sendmail8.9.3 does have many new
security features, and it's highly customizeable (something which i need).
qmail does do pop3 and imap-4....i would use qpopper rather than ipop3.
My research through dejanews, shows that a properly config'd sendmail box
(including secure permissions) with updated sendmail, is very secure. I
don't know about the robustness of qmail though <majordomo etc..etc..>,
something i have to look into though.

check out www.qmail.org, it should answer all your questions....I for one
would rather use qmail....but i am unsure of the pandora's box (project)
of converting 8k users from sendmail to qmail w/o any downtime. <sigh>

**note: i don't consider myself a sendmail/qmail expert, so please
enlighten me, no flames...
