To Whom,
I looked into the many getty-s and mgetty seems to provide the best in
security. It also provides voice answering (knowing that voice hardware
must be present) in addition to many more services. The structure is
already installed and the options are available for the different types
of serial necessities.
Mingetty is the default installation and I'm not completely sure is
reaches or comes close to the many types of serial necessities.
While diving through the documentation on mgetty I found this syntax for
mgetty for inittab: t1:234:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -D -i /etc/iss1 -s 19200
ttyS1. Whether ttyS1 or 19200 is necessary as they are or can ttyS1 be
tty1 and 19200 be 115200 or 38400? And, should more <options> be added
or reduced?
Anyone experienced in this area will be more than welcome. Also, any
other inittab and additional features to other parts of the mgetty
structure input will be a welcome sight. I'm concerned about setting
mgetty (if that's the best choice) up in the best and most optimal way
possible.
