Hello all,
I have a computer running on the net that I do not have phyisical access
to. The system really needs to be reinstalled.
Problem: Can I reinstall Linux from scratch without being at the machine?
I would like to install Redhat 5.2, ideally using ssh or something that
provides some security.
I've read over the howto's on on diskless booting and similar topics and I
think it's more than I need.
I want to install redhat off my local harddrive (were I downloaded it). I
think these are the things I need:
Relevant system config: Ethernet: 3COM 3c590 10base-T
1) Som type of bootdisk-like image to reboot the system to (since I don't
have access to the computer, I can't stick a disk in it). This needs to
contain the neccessary utilities to install redhat, and the necessary
network stuff so that I can ssh (at least telnet) into.
2)Be able to display the RedHat setup screen on my terminal.
I realize this is a 1 shot try and if I screw up, I'll have to physicaly
go to the machine, but I would like to give it a try
Thanks for the help.
