Both the Auto 16/4 and the Turbo adapter are supported by the ibmtr
driver, in both 2.0.36 and 2.2.2.  Can you give me an idea of your
hardware configuration and whether or not you get any tr0 messages in
syslog?  An strace of ifconfig as it croaks might also be useful.
