I'm not sure exactly what your setup is. I use RH 5.2 on a firewall with
ip-masquerading, with another machine, also running RH5.2 behind the firewall
(and a Win95 machine as well). The Win95 machine uses an SMTP mailserver
outside the firewall for outgoing mail, and POP3 from an outside server for
incoming. Works great through ip-masq.
I had problems using the external mailserver for outgoing mail, so I use
sendmail on my internal RH machine. It works fine. I didn't do any setup at all
- just running it as it was set up in RH. I also didn't touch the firewall.
