If the firewall is running an MTA, you should just need to specify it
in the DS line in sendmail.cf on the mail server.

If the mail server doesn't have access to a DNS server, you will need
to make some changes to sendmail.cf (e.g. to prevent it attempting to
canonify the domain part of email addresses).
