Heya,
Nope...a virus cannot infect a DOS partition via Linux! A virus can
infect other files only if it is run and than it will spread across the
harddrives partitions (like OneHalf). IN linux there are NO viruses!
I didn't heard about a virus that can afect a PnP enviroment....and I'm a
hacker also! :))) Thoretically a virus can hack some PnP devices and
change their setting but in this case the virus code should be too big
(50Kb or more) and if it is so BIG that's not a VIRUS! :))) That's a
FUCKING BAD WRITTEN VIRUS! :))

Please try to see this is your network card is running in PnP mode. Do
this:
Reboot the computer, enter the BIOS configration setup, go under the 'PnP'
section and YOU MUST HAVE ENABLED SOMETHING THAT SAYS:
PnP AUTOCONFIGURATION!
OR
Assign IRQ PCI Slot1: AUTOMATIC (AUTO,PnP)
Assign IRQ PCI Slot2: --- " --------
...and so on!

This can be the cause for the trouble!
Also..using the floppy disk/cdrom that come with the NIC (Netwrok
Interface Card) look for a 'setup' DOS program on it. If you find it,
runnit and make sure that the NIC is set to run in PnP mode NOT jumperless
or other crap!

Hope this will help!

Cheers,
