Hello. I have a problem that I am currently not able to solve. The problem, basically is that I am not able to pop my isp for mail. This is using my own laptop running windows 95 and netscape navigator 5.1. I need to use my own kit before transferring an OS/2 mail server over from a stand alone entity. OK the topology used is this. A linux Red Hat 5.2 box which is acting as a proxy web server running apache and squid and the firewall is enabled, IPchains are not currently being used. The web server is connected to our ISP on the uplink side via a dialup connection (Diald) the downlink is a satellite link from which a static ip is issued during negotiation. my computer is on the network side of the firewall. I am not able to ping the pop server. but http can go through. If I go to the Linux box I can ping everything ??? Can any one help me ??? Cheers Athol Reid. - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-net" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
