do you have full duplex enabled on the nics? I've seen that take a network
speed waaaaaaaaaay down! (assuming one doesn't have a switch or high end hub
that supports fdx) In one example, just changing from full duplex to half
duplex allowed downloads to got from 5-10k/s (at netscape's site) to 100k/s +
speeds.
