Take the machine down to single user mode and change root password there.
In order to do this you should login as root (!!!) and go to single user
mode but as you can't, you will have to crash the machine and reboot to
init 1
(Linux single)
You may be able to do this with the bin or adm accounts...
Otherwise you will have to try each of the changed passwords one by one!!
Alternatively do you have another account (fred) that has su access?
eg field, bin, adm. Try these accounts first!
