Im working on Red Hat 5.2, I made a ppp connection to my ISP, I get my IP address when I check with ifconfig (if I check it with the network configurator on X-windows I do not...but I get connected anyway...checked with minicom also), but once I try to use Netscape, I got the next error messages: Netscape is unable to locate the server: *** www.address.foo*** The server does not have a DNS entry, check the srver name in the URL. .....and this next one: warning: the following hosts are unknown: home.netscape.com home6.netscape.com internic.net some or all hosts are unreachable. Perhaps there is a problem with your name server? if your site must use a non_root name server, you will need to set the $SOCKS_NS environment variable to point at appropriate name server. It may (or may not) be necessary to set this variable, or the SOCKS host preference, to the IP address of the host in question rather than its name. Thanx....
