If you are able to open the box up, you should be able
to figure it out based on the chip. Usually a NIC
chip will say something about ethernet or 10 base T or
10/100 on it somewhere.
A NIC is basically made up of the jack, a filter
(Bulky looking DIP chip -- Pulse is a common brand),
then an ethernet chip (Level One is a common brand)
and, finally an ASIC. The ASIC is usually a square
chip with lots of fine-pitched leads. That's the one
that you want to get the information off of.
If all else fails, you can get a NIC for about $15 at
your friendly neighborhood computer store... Whatever
you do -- don't resort to W95!! :)
