Well, you could hack your POP3 server to do an implicit "mark for deletion"
after a message has been RETR'd (you don't want to delete straight away, in
case the connection terminates abnormally). Alternatively I believe there are
programs that walk /var/spool/mail and purge messages from users' mailboxes
according to certain rules: have a look on Freshmeat.
