use AutoPPP utility of mgetty. It works fine. No terminal etc. just
configure PAP or CHAP and gooooooooooo.
here is what you can configure
/AutoPPP/ - a_ppp /usr/sbin/pppd auth
three modes of authintication one can achieve. Any one of following lines
has to be put in above line which is in /etc/mgetty+sendfaf/login.config
file
1. -chap +pap
This would be very weak and may allow many users. Password has to be given
in /etc/ppp/pap.secrets file
2. -chap +pap login
This will allow all those having login and passwd entry in
/etc/paswd files
3. +chap -pap
In this case /etc/chap.secrets has to be cvvonfigured. In this case user
need not to have any entry in /etc/passwd file like in case 1.
