That may be right about not seeing a performace difference,
but the reliability is completely different. I never trust
anything from Ziff-Davis because they are so pro Microsoft.
If you want proof of that, just look up the results and the
responses to Ziff-Davis' <quote>unbiased</quote> tests for
security between Linux and NT earlier this year.
The posting you read was clear FUD from microsoft. Linux
does have some shortcommings, but those are being addressed
faster than ms can fix NT. Microsoft has a habit of
changing the connection code in ms products so their
competitor can not connect or run. Case in point is DRDOS
6.0 with windows 3.1, Service pack 3 changing the protocols
to refuse samba connections, and so forth. The only thing
that I trust microsoft to do is to lie, cheat, and spread
FUD about any competition.
