startx

I am new to Linnux, I have my server up and can run startx and KDE with no
problem from the attached monitor. But when I telnet in from another PC I
get the following when I run the startx command

Authentication failed - cannot start X server.
Perhaps you do not have console ownership?

any help would be appreciated.
