I've waited 20 minutes while I had a cup of coffee, but no luck.
/var/log/messages lists no errors, and if I initialize eth0 as I said
before, and get it working /var/log/messages looks like a normal
successful ethernet initializartion to me.
( but then I'm a beginner, so most things look normal to me :-) )
I could send a copy of the end of messages if you want, but you have to
tell me whether you want it -before- my DSL is running, or -after-,
using the initialization I used in my original letter.
