I doubt there's any way to do this without some kind of load-balancing
software, but I think that's adding a level of complexity that you don't
need. Instead of 2 PCs, why not just add another interface to the current
proxy server, then setup IPChains (I'm assuming you're using IPChains) to
segment network requests, i.e. any request from 192.168.2.1 through
192.168.2.127 goes to eth1, any request from 192.168.2.128 through
192.168.2.255 goes to eth2 (with eth0 being your private interface).

Assuming you're running your proxy on a reasonably powerful PC, with not too
many other services, this should service you just fine.

        Subject: Proxy on two servers

        Hello,
can someone point me to some kind of howto or FAQ where I can learn
how
        to set up
the proxy server. Well actualy I'd like to use the same name let
i.e.
        proxy.domain.si
but the proxy server would be on two servers. I already have one
proxy
        server but, with
bigger number of users I'd like to put in my network one more.
So I'd like that settings for users would stay the same (proxy =
        proxy.domain.si), but two servers
would serve the requests for the users (one name two servers).
So I need some kind "server-organizer".
How can I set this up.

        Regards
        Janez Vrenjak
