Thanks for the suggestion, Ridhwan, but that results in the exact same
error messages. If anyone could suggest what I might put in the routing
section of netcfg or what might solve the error:
invalid destination mit.edu for line 0 in file /etc/conf.routes when there
is no /etc/config.routes, I might make some progress.
