Hello,
I am working on an upgrade from Linux 2.2.18 to 2.4.4. According to 2.4.4
"changes" I need to upgrade first "modutils" to version 2.4.2 and "ppp" to
2.4.0. I downloaded "modutils-2.4.6-1.i386.rpm" and "ppp-2.4.0.tar.gz" . So
far. Now my questions:
1.) I think I can install modutils with "rpm -i modutils-2.4.6-1.i386.rpm".
Could this affect the operation of my actual kernel 2.2.18 ?
2.) where should I untar ppp-2.4.0 ? I mean, in which directory ? and also,
will the new version be compatible with my old kernel ?
I am running SuSE 6.4 and I already upgraded to 2.2.18 compiling the
18'kernel
