The XP is the system that is connected to the internet, and I'm trying to
piggy back to that connection the AMD  box and the XP laptop.

I have a Linksys Ethernet 10/100 Cable/DSL Router (BEFSR41 ver.2) with four
ports connected to a Shark Fin cable modem.
