Hi, Paul: There are no dumb questions... There are, however, dumb answers. It is up to you to separate the grain from the chaff. IMHO, 'foo' is a polite synonym for 'fu' which is part of 'fubar'. ergo, 'foo', as used commonly as a placeholder, has no meaning.
