Richard if you think only Dutchmen are stubborn you are mistaken. ;-) I now reinstalled SW8.0 and as I suspected kppp connected to the different ISPs as I know it would since the time I had a SUSE 5.1 box, provided you do not run pppsetup first. To make sure now not to make this mistake again I deleted that program first thing. Gnome-ppp works just as well now.
