I started with a very old custom copied Slackware about 9 months ago.
After learning linux a bit, and using a Slackware 3.3 I got my hands on a
RH 5.0 CD. I was so happy to see the nice GUI tools! but within two months
realized that this was not for me.
So now I am back to Slackware 3.4 and I am very very happy with it.
Yes, most people on this list seem to be using RH. But members of this
list are not a random sample, so this does not mean anything. All the ISPs
in my country use Slackware. According to the linux counter, the majority
of linuxers use Slackware, yes yes, I admit, this does not prove anything
either.
Conclusion? IMHO, Slackware will stay, as long as there are people who
like things the simple way.
