Yeah, it sucks. Try setting your display for 256 colors. I had this
one version of Doom called DosDoom, there is a Linux port, but I can't
find it. It will run in any number of colors. Also, you might want to
try looking at sunsite. http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/games/doom/
