Not a pain, Dane, if you have gpm working.  Highlight the url with
gpm,  then bring up lynx, hit a g and paste your mouse buffer with
the right hand clicker.  It puts it right in.  That goes for messages
that simply have their web sites url in their signature.  Like mine:
