Let me explain further since everyone is being so helpful! The linux
box has a Realtek configured to run as an NE2000 (Not PnP), I have a
3com hub running at 10MBS. The win98 box has a compaq netflex 10/100
adapter. Ill have to try locking that card at 10mbs, even though it
auto senses line speed. I am running UTP cable. Both cards are known
to work . Both have run at my college on our dorm net for a couple of
years with out a problem. (Especially the NE200, its a real tank!)
Anyway thats my issue. It sounds like a hardware failure, but if it is,
its not the cables or cards cause I have switched both of them... ANy
linux os ideas??
