In my experience, the most recent version of fips (v.1.5 , I think, it came
with my SuSE 5.3 distr.) worked once on a HDD with FAT32, and on another HDD
with the same FAT, it didn't. The second time, there seemed to be a problem
with blocks missing, so, actually, it could have been a safety feature. IMHO,
fips is definitely worth a try.See you,
