Netscape Timeout

My Netscape program times out (shuts down) after about half an hour to
an hour.  Anyone know why this happens, and how it can be corrected?
Quite a pain when I'm in the middle of downloading a file.  Speaking of
which, are there any programs to enable you to continue downloading
where you left off (much like GetRight for Windoze)?
