I'm having a hard time deciding between Caldera and Red Hat, but I am
currently swaying towards Caldera for one main reason.. A problem I can not
solve with X under Red Hat.
When I configure X in either package, it sets the default resolution to
the highest possible. I have a 14" monitor displaying X at 1128x800
(approximately).. Can you say "Eye Strain".. Sometimes I need a magnifying
glass just to see what's listed in my directory.
I got around this in Caldera by altering the XConfig text file.. Easy
enough.. But I couldn't find a similar file for RedHat. I found a
TextConfig file, but couldn't make heads over tails with it. Anyone know
how I can easily change my resolution in X to 800X600? >
