This is how I downloaded and installed WP8 for Linux

If you downloaded the files using Netscape they appear to be Un g-zipped
after you install them, however you must still untar them.  Befor you untar
them, change the filename to lower case and remove the .GZ extension.  Then
run ./Runme.  If you use ftp from a terminal window in X the files are not
unzipped but still must be renamed to lower case prior to un g-zipping and
un-tarring.
