Hi all,
I've been trying to pring ps files for a long time now, without much
succes... I have a HP Deskjet 690C attached to /dev/lp1.

I've installed apsfilter, choosing HP Deskjet 500C as printer, and my
'/etc/printcap' has now 5 printers :lp1...lp5. I tryied to print from
Ghostview, but only the plain ASCII file was coming out...
 I tryied using gs:
gs -dSAFER -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=deskjet -sOutputFile=/dev/lp1 file.ps
and the result was a little bit better, meaning that I got some graphics
and some fonts, but everything was messed up (the characters were funny, I
really don't know how to explain that...)

I also tryied using gs with lpr:
gs -dSAFER -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=deskjet -sOutputFile=\ | lpr file.ps
Sometimes I got 'broken pipe', sometimes I got a piece of paper in which
each line was full of black ink...

Can somebody help me? I really don't understand how this works and why
does it have to be so complicated... and it's really a dirty job to search
for pdf files, and go to windows and print from there...
I would like to know if it is possible to print directly from GhostView,
and if now, what is the correct command line for gs (or lpr, or God knows
what else...).

Thanks a lot for your time,
bogdan
