You don't say which partition you are trying to access. RH's "hard drive
install" (actually, every distribution's "hard drive install" I've seen)
expects to find the installation source on a *Linux* partition. If you're
trying to get it from a FAT16 partition, that's the problem. 

If you are trying to find it on /dev/hda5, then send us the full sequence of
lines that generates the error.
