It's a little involved, but if you run the .tex file through LaTeX (or
TeX, it that's the language) you will obtain a .dvi file.  The .dvi file
may be changed to postscript with 'dvips', and then 'ghostview' will put
it on the screen.  There are other translators to .pdf format, I haven't
used them.
