What class/speed of processer do you have, how much memory do you have on
this machine, and which verison of netscape, and which windows manager is
running?
Does this only happen on certain pages, or is it every web pages, even if
it is just a 'hello world' web pages. I know java applets put a beatdown
on my system.
Do you use kill -9 (pid of top) to kill it? It might take a while to kill
it since it has no cpu power to kill it with.
Do you have alot of programs, and daemons running in the background?
Want you could do is try to use netscape with the nice command, I haven't
heard of anyone doing this, but it might ease up some on that cpu
