network

How would I go about setting up a simple network with 2 machines, one win95,
and mine linux.  i have the internet connection (other computer uses gasp AOL).
the card is recognized, and I can ping the other machine, but my internet
connection will not work now (it connects....but it connects to my machine IP #)
is this a hostname, or etc/hosts thing?

any help would of course help greatly
