I am fairly new to Linux. I am running Apache and PHP and PostgreSQL on top
of Linux and I have a question. I am storing large articles in large objects
via Postgres6.5(beta2) and when you do so, it stores the objects as
individual files in the /data/base directory. Anyway, my database may
eventually exceed 100,000 records - which means 100,000 text files. At what
point will Linux degrade with _x_ number of thousands of files in a
directory? Windows would choke after a few thousand I think... but I don't
know about Linux.
