bestdata 56k voice modem

hello,
 i just bought a 56k internal modem by bestdata. the sales person said
it would work with linux.  the box says it has a controllor on it. i got
home and it has no jumpers...but it is no a win modem whats up? is there
a way to get linux to work with it?
