I've observed apmd during a battery discharge. All it does is give a warning
that the battery is almost empty. I didn't have the guts to wait and see
whether apmd would shutdown the computer correctly or not. I have a feeling
it won't.
I've been reading the UPS HOWTO. It made me wonder if it is possible to make
apmd do the same thing as upsd does.
