Have you checked http://www.xfree86.org/cardlist.html ?
If the card (or chipset, since it isn't really a card) supports VESA 2.0,
you could use kernel 2.2 with a framebuffer device. This works fine with
X, although it is rather slow (BTW: I have never done this myself, only
seen it working)
