They review distros on a regular basis (Caldera 2.2 and RH 6 in the last
month or so)

reviewed 5 in a recent issue, hope you recognize the irony of the source
there is also a long and old document that compares distros, but i
cannot remember the locale. I think it was at a relatively popular linux
site
