For Slackware Pro's

Hi!!
I have some questions about install Slackware in my computer...
I'm pretty new in linux environment and i want to learn more about it ....a 
friend gave me a version in CD of Slackware 2.01 with a Kernel v1.1.18
I want to know if it worth to install it...or maybe i must find a newer 
version of it
