You don't have to recompile to kernel, it comes with a demo or old version,
or the opensound drivers provided by 4 Front Tech (www.opensound.com).  No
recompiling, or compiling needed!  It is not installed by default :( and it
is way down is some dark hard to find place on the cd, but alast it is there.
